OUR STORY

Breakthrough Restaurant: A Legacy of Hospitality and Authentic Iloilo Flavors

Our Story: Founded in 1986 by Raymundo and Ma. Isabel Robles, Breakthrough Restaurant began with a simple dream: to serve the freshest, most flavorful seafood while creating a welcoming environment where both locals and tourists could come together to enjoy great meals. With backgrounds in Marine Fisheries and Hotel and Restaurant Management, the Robles couple saw an opportunity to share the authentic flavors of Iloilo through quality seafood and traditional Ilonggo cooking. What began as a small snack bar in Lopez Arcade, Jaro, has now grown into an iconic dining destination loved by many.

Our Flagship Experience: By 1992, Breakthrough expanded to its flagship location along the beachfront of Sto. Nino Arevalo, Villa Baybay, where guests could enjoy not only the freshest seafood but also beautiful views. The restaurant became known for its live seafood tanks and its signature dishes like litson manok and litson baboy, capturing the essence of both Iloilo’s rich culinary heritage and the Robles’ dedication to offering home-style, comforting meals.

Breakthrough Today: After more than three decades, Breakthrough Restaurant remains a beloved name in Iloilo’s culinary scene. Our growth includes two sister companies: Breakthrough Restaurant Incorporated, which operates the Breakthrough Restaurant Main Branch and two other food court locations. Tridons Ventures Inc., which manages Dapli by Breakthrough and Ponsyon by Breakthrough. Each of our locations continues to uphold our commitment to offering exceptional dining experiences that showcase Iloilo’s rich culinary culture.
